Brass Quintet B (heheh)

Oh look! I'm blogging again!!!

GASP!!

3 days in a row... phwoarrr!

But today I'm just gonna post a video clip of... guess what?

Uhmm.. it's us (Brass Quintet B, coz we haven't thought of a name for our quintet yet) playing the Western Fanfare by Eric Ewazen. It's one of the pieces our quintet was playing for that night.

This was the second piece that we were playing for that night. I think we were all quite nervous during the first one, so playing everything quite carefully. And by the time it came to the second piece, which was Western Fanfare, I guess we all just let go and had fun with it. It wasn't perfect or anything but you know (then again, nothing's perfect in this world in a way), we did our best I guess and this is it!

Tell me what you guys think! :)

Maybe it's my ears but some parts sound a bit out of tune.

Without hearing the original song I can't really be sure.

Other than that, the timing was good.

But a bit too 'safe'. Not cukup 'feel' but near the end was ok.

yea. I agree that it was a bit out of tune of 1st trumpet and a little split notes too. But overalls rhythm was okay. Dynamics contrast was too little.

great open trumpet sound...the trombones sound 'pecah' already. i find it hard to hear horn though. i think the horn has a beautiful part. i find overall sound not blended carefully but still great playing.
